Vanier/Civic Centre Performances

 

• Morning performances are from 10:30 to 11:20. Afternoon performances are from 12:40 to 1:30.

• Fees for Vanier Hall performances are $2.50 per student. Staff members and volunteers attend for free. These fees will be collected via journal voucher based on the head count provided at the time of the reservation. Adjustments to this headcount must be done prior to any performance.

• Bookings can be made by contacting Brenda Anderson at brenanderson@sd57.bc.ca.

• Schools are generally allotted up to 60 seats per school however, special arrangements can be made for larger numbers by contacting the booking officer.

• At the beginning of every school year schools are given detailed information of all performances. Included in this brochure is information on the grade appropriateness of the show and performance dates. This allows schools to reserve seats on a first come, first served basis.

• All cancellations of seat reservations should be done at least two weeks in advance to allow other schools the time to use these extra spaces. If notification of cancellation is not given prior to any performance, schools will be charged the full amount of the initial reservation.

• Indication of any last minute changes can be made by submitting the "numbers" form at the beginning of any performance.  Get this form by clicking here.

School Performances

 

• The cost of a single school based performance varies greatly but the average cost is $750 to $900.

• The cultural committee provides a subsidy of up to $500 for the first school performance booked with us and also an additional $500 for the second to each school in the District. Schools in outlying areas that do not have access to Vanier performances get an additional subsidy. (See "Busing Policies" for more information.)

• Schools will be billed via journal voucher for the cost school performances. Each school needs to provide the financial officer (Tim Yule) with the account code that they would like to have the fees drawn from. In the event that this information is not provided, the code from the pervious year will be used.
